Printable Wall Art

This one is a favorite, obviously, but for good reason. There are thousands of options and buying and printing are pretty inexpensive. When looking for a kids wall art printable, make sure that you read the full description to make sure that the listing includes the size you need and that the file that you will get will be high resolution, usually 300dpi. Also make sure that the colors will still go with your room design, even if they end up being slightly different than what you see online. Online images and actual physical printed images are two different things.

A great source for printable kids wall art is of course Etsy. Etsy has thousands of sellers and most of them are happy to customize a size for you if you ask. Once you find an image or two that you like, it’s easy to upload them to wherever you like to get photos printed – Target, Shutterfly, Costco, etc… A matte finish photo paper is always a nice look, but canvas can also be a fun lightweight option.

Chalkboard Wall Art

This one is kind of a kids room wall art DIY. It is beyond easy to head on over to your local home improvement store and pick up a gallon of black chalkboard paint and cover a wall in your kid’s room. You can then either let them go to town on the wall with chalk and decorate it themselves or do something more artistic to match the theme of the room. If you are not inclined to create a chalkboard mural yourself, stencils are very helpful. You can create a pattern with stencils or even words or phrases if you don’t want to freehand it. Check out Pinterest for a ton of inspiration.

Another option is to buy a chalkboard that is all framed out and ready to hang. This option looks good even if the chalkboard is blank. You can also find chalkboards that are in shapes, such as houses, that are perfectly kid themed already.

Letters / Name Wall Art

A tried-and-true theme for kids bedroom art is to use letters. This could be single letters like A, B and C, spelling their name, or spelling out a word or phrase that goes with the theme of the room. An easy DIY option is to go to your nearest craft store, or shop online here or here, and pick up some cardboard or wooden letters, paint them your kid’s favorite color and hang them on the wall. Done and done.

If you want to get fancier and less DIY, there are many places that offer custom words, names or phrases that would be done and ready to hang. You can find custom letter and name art as wall decals, wooden letters in many different fonts and styles, or even lighted marquee letters!

Alphabet Wall Art

If you want to go the educational and functional yet super cute route, you can’t go wrong with alphabet wall art. It is easy to find, always appropriate and never goes out of style. You can find thousands of different variations of alphabet art to fit almost any theme or color you can think of. Decals are wonderful because they are lightweight and you don’t have to put any holes in your wall, but you can also find framed art prints and canvas options. Bonus points if the alphabet art comes with animals or objects next to the letters for easier learning. Amazon has a lot of great options, as does home shopping sites like Overstock.

As you can see, kids room wall art does not have to be complicated or cost a lot of money to make an impact with your kids. It just has to make you and them smile when they walk into the room. Let’s face it, you’ll probably be changing it sooner than you’d like anyway. 😉
